Ode to Condor
Ode to Condor
Ode to Condor painting by Miranda Wildman
The condor or the vulture are often feared as scary creatures. With this painting I aim to honor these birds of prey for their ability to fly long distances, their majestic flight (did you know these birds can have up to an 11 foot wingspan?), and their hunger for carrion, keeping the environment clean and safe from spreading disease.
I created “Ode to Condor” on wood using acrylic paint, paper, crayons and gold leaf and it measures 6x6” with a 3/4” cradle.
This piece is part of my 50/50 Shop for the Future. 50% of profit from original art sales to me and 50% to a local organization providing hurricane relief in WNC, which will be rebuilding for the foreseeable future.
For the month of October I will be sharing with R.O.A.R. Rural Organizing and Resilience
